Jenkins Manufacturing Company, Inc. d/b/a Monarch Windows and Doors (‘Monarch’ or the ‘Company’) is a manufacturer of medium to high-end windows and doors for the residential and light commercial markets focused primarily in the Southeastern United States. The Company is headquartered in Anniston, Alabama and is known in the marketplace for quality products with excellent service at a good value.
Situation
Monarch was a non-debtor subsidiary of Summit Metals, Inc. in the District of Delaware. As a result of an IRS tax lien, the Company was operating under a forbearance agreement with its senior lender.
Solution
SSG was engaged to sell Monarch in order to provide liquidity to the estate of Summit Metals. SSG assisted the Chapter 11 Trustee in the sale of the Company’s assets to Monarch Windows and Doors, LLC. The transaction closed in December, 2005.
