Eyes of the Future, P.C. d/b/a Kremer Laser Eye Center (“Kremer” or the “Company”)is a comprehensive eye surgery operation, whose board-certified surgeons perform an extensive array of services including, but not limited to, laser vision correction, cataract removal, and glaucoma related procedures. With surgery centers located in King of Prussia, PA, Cherry Hill, NJ, and Wilmington, DE, Kremer is a worldwide leader in vision correction. Kremer surgeons have performed over 150,000 procedures, of which, 50,000 have been LASIK.
Situation
This privately held Company has experienced tremendous growth in revenue and profitability in 2002 through 2004, and its principals desired to capitalize on that growth and the strong M&A market by selling the business.
Solution
SSG was engaged to test the market and sell Kremer to provide the owner with the liquidity a healthy company can obtain in today’s marketplace. After attracting several offers with strong valuations from both financial and strategic buyers, entities formed by TLC Vision Corporation d/b/a TLC Laser Eye Centers (NasdaqNM: TLCV) were chosen as the preferred buyer for the assets. The transaction closed in July, 2005.
