Consolidated Route, Inc., (“ConRoute” or the “Company”) operates toy crane skill machines under the Win Stuff trade name and designs and distributes plush toys through its Good Stuff division. Win Stuff operates over 5,500 cranes nationally, with units in supermarkets, mass merchandisers, and restaurants. Good Stuff is a licensed plush toy company serving the worldwide mass merchant, specialty, sporting goods, and amusement park markets.
Situation
Liquidity concerns caused by an over-leveraged balance sheet began to distract management and threaten the Company’s ability to remain competitive.
Solution
SSG was retained with the mandate of right-sizing ConRoute’s over-burdened balance sheet. SSG assisted the Company in a financial restructuring effectuated through a management buyout. The transaction closed in May 2004.
