Concord Marketing is a soft cheese manufacturer selling both its own brand names, as well as, through private labels through the grocery store distribution network.
Situation
Concord Marketing had experienced rapid growth over the prior three year period, and it had insufficient working capital to support its’ expansion needs.
Solution
SSG was retained to identify strategic alternatives for Concord Marketing with the goal of raising capital, while at the same time, minimizing dilution to Concord’s existing shareholder base. SSG initiated a transaction with M. Maggio Company, one of the country’s premier Italian cheese producers. M. Maggio entered into a long-term supply agreement with Concord Marketing allowing Concord to focus on the marketing side of its business while providing substantial liquidity to Concord at the same time.
